IEC of ERICAM and UME
After the successful completion of a 36 hour exercise from 28 November to 2 December 2011, the International USAR teams of Spain - Emergencia Respuesta Inmediata de la Comunidad de Madrid (ERICAM) and Unidad Militar de Emergencia (UME), both successfully achieved their "Medium level" IEC exercise to become the 27th and 28th teams respectively, to be recognized globally as INSARAG classified teams. They are also the 10th and 11th Medium teams to be classified, the rest being Heavy teams.
IER of USAR NL
The Urban Search and Rescue Team of the Netherlands (USAR.NL) has undergone its reclassification, deploying to Denmark for a 48 hour exercise. Non stop earthquake response field exercise in close partnership with DEMA of Denmark was conducted from 26 to 29 September 2011. The USAR.NL that was first IEC classified in 2007 was succesfully reclassified as a Heavy team.
