Invitation for the INSARAG USAR Team Leaders Meeting 2017 and of the INSARAG Technical Working Group Meetings 

The Government of Indonesia, Badan SAR Nasional (BASARNAS) and the Field Coordination Support Section of UN OCHA Geneva, in its capacity as the INSARAG Secretariat, are pleased to invite you to participate in the annual INSARAG Urban Search and Rescue Team Leaders (TL) Meeting and Working Group (WG) Meetings. The back to back events will be held in Bali, Indonesia, from 18 to 20 October (TL Meeting) and from 16 to 20 October (WG Meetings), respectively. 

This annual TL meeting is open to the global network of experienced Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) practitioners who respond to collapsed structure incidents domestically and internationally and whose input, advice and experience serve to improve the operational capabilities of international USAR response. The meetings provide a forum to discuss technical issues relating to operations and trainings, based on best practices and lessons learned. Team Leaders are welcome to share any particular topic that they wish to discuss, and/or include in the meeting agenda, for consideration by 18 August to insarag@un.org and changw@un.org. Participants of the Team Leaders meeting are requested to arrive on 17 October 2017 and can depart in the evening of the 20 October 2017, or the following day, when the meeting concludes. 

The Working Groups of INSARAG compose of nominated members from all the regions and work on technical issues and methodologies moving INSARAG forward. Please do note that the Working Group meetings on the 16 -17 October are closed for working group members only. Members are requested to arrive 2 days prior for their respective meetings (15 October 2017). Kindly indicate this in the registration forms for host country arrangements. 

Participants are requested to organise their own travel arrangements and cover participation cost. An accommodation price for participants is negotiated by the Host country at the Padma Resort Legian. Should participants prefer to stay in another suitable accommodation, kindly refer to the administrative document attached for the list of hotels recommended by the host country. 

Participants are responsible for obtaining their own entry visas to Indonesia.The visa can be obtained from the Indonesian diplomatic missions in their respective countries.You may find information on Indonesian embassies and consulates contact details at the Ministry of Foreign Affair website on the following link: http://www.kemlu.go.id. Please fill out and send the registration form to BASARNAS Secretariat (yopiharyadi@yahoo.com, ms.rimagusnita@gmail.com, harto_adi@yahoo.com), copying INSARAG Secretariat (insarag@un.org ) by 1 September 2017 for the host to prepare and make arrangements accordingly. Kindly note that all participants are required to register in the Virtual OSOCC: https://vosocc.unocha.org under meetings tab with the heading INSARAG Team Leaders Meeting. The invitation, registration form, as well as administrative instruction document, are also available in the Virtual OSOCC. The detailed provisional agenda will be shared closer the date.
