On behalf of the Government of the Philippines and the Office of Civil Defense, the INSARAG Secretariat is pleased to invite your organization to participate in the INSARAG Asia – Pacific(AP) Regional Earthquake Response Exercise (ERE) 2018. The exercise will be held in Clark, Angeles City, Philippines from 26 to 29 June 2018.

As part of the disaster response preparedness activities of INSARAG, the EREs are conducted primarily as a means to increase awareness and practice INSARAG disaster response methodologies amongst national and local authorities in the host country, and international responders as endorsed by the INSARAG Guidelines. It is further recommended that such multi-stakeholder exercises incorporate the management components of international organizations to ensure an integrated and coordinated response in support of host country actors. The international participants in this table-top simulation exercise are represented by skeletal teams of up to 4 members(per country/team) from international Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), Emergency Medical Teams (EMTs) and representatives of Civil-Military Forces that deployed and/or stationed military assets in the Philippines during the Typhoon Haiyan response in 2013. INSARAG Classified teams from the AP are also strongly encouraged to nominate a suitable member to participate as a USAR Coordination Cell(UCC) member in the exercise.

Registration is required in the Virtual OSOCC using this link: https://vosocc.unocha.org/Reg/5354_INSARAG_AP2018.html Please note that registration does not automatically mean acceptance into the exercise. Kindly wait for the confirmation of acceptance from the organizers before arranging flight bookings.  The closing date for registration is 24 May 2018, to facilitate host country arrangements.
